Atlantico Capital advised Saur in the disposal of Saur Colombia to Aqualia

OCTOBER 2022

The Saur group has announced the closing of a contract to sell Saur Colombia, its municipal water management business in Colombia, to the Spanish group Aqualia.

With nearly 300 employees, Saur Colombia operates 6 water distribution and treatment concessions for municipalities located in northern Colombia. Saur Colombia generated revenues of around 12 million euros in 2021.

With revenues of 1.7 billion euros in 2021, Saur is one of the leading European groups specializing in water infrastructure management and water treatment services for local authorities and industry.

With the disposal of its municipal water management activities in Colombia, Saur is streamlining its geographic footprint and focusing its resources to execute its strategic plan.

Atlantico Capital acted as financial adviser to Saur together with its European partner CASE Corporate Finance.

The MAP Alliance was forged in 2017 between a group of investment banking boutiques (Metis Advisors based in Sao Paulo, Atlantico Capital based in Miami, and Providence Capital based in Santiago de Chile) offering a full coverage of Latin America. Such alliance was expanded with the incorporation of Case Corporate Finance (France and Germany) and Cassiopea Partners (Italy).

All firms under MAP Alliance had a common element: having senior professionals with previous experience at the investment banking division of ABN AMRO.
